Why I Write

I write to talk to the blank page.

I write to break the silence of my youth.

I write to tell my mother my truthful feelings.

I write to create newness and then give it away.

I write to become someone else for a moment.

I write to share my stories.

I write to invite voices in.

I write to let go.

I write to connect.

I write to hear myself breathing.

I write for a sweet release.

I write to be heard

I write because it’s my reason for being.
